Last week, I deadlifted 110kg for six reps - the same weight I carried on the scales when I started this journey in July 2023.
Today, training with Carol, we went straight for a new best: 115kg on the trap bar.
That first rep took some willpower to get moving off the floor. But it moved. And then I had another five reps to do.
By the sixth, my grip was ready to call it a day. We dropped the weight slightly for the remaining sets, but the new personal best was in the bag.
115kg × 6. Another 5kg for the same six reps.

Last week, I wished we’d captured the moment. This time, we got it on video. These stills are another record of something I once couldn’t have imagined myself doing.
There are plenty of days between personal bests: turning up, practising, recovering and doing the work again. Today was one of those days when I could put a number on the progress.
Proud of this one.
Still becoming. ❤️
